SYNTHETIC SHOPPING SURVEILLANCE

SYNTHETIC SHOPPING SURVEILLANCE [Cambridge, MA]

Critic: Andrea Hansen @ Harvard GSD | Fall 2014

Tasked with engaging in an indeterminate temporal medium that acquires understanding of both rhythmic processes and the passage of time, this video juxtaposes modes of perception through adjacent lenses that show an accelerated view of an inverted reality while harmoniously desynchronizing the flux of interior surveillance vs outdoor banal ephemera. In other words, the syncresis of these observed urban flows against the backdrop of obscurity, rising cortisol levels and impending danger rather unapologetically create distortion fields of an otherwise sunny afternoon. Complexity is constructed and discord intoxicated.
